Dear Volunteers, Friends, and Neighbors:
Thanks to your advocacy, Hennepin County has restored half its funding for the three block nurse programs: Longfellow/Seward Healthy Seniors, Southeast Seniors, and Nokomis Healthy Seniors! We now need the City of Minneapolis to increase their funding above Mayor Frey’s proposed budget to sustain the same combined funding level from the county and city as we currently have.
Please email the entire Minneapolis City Council with this message:
Please vote for the Schroeder Amendment to increase funding by $110,000 for Aging Support Services including the three Minneapolis block nurse programs. This funding will ensure that over 1,500 frail, older adults and their caregivers continue to remain independent, healthy and safe in their homes. Thank you for supporting our seniors!
City Council Member Email Addresses:
You can send just one email to the entire council. Thanks for your support of Longfellow/Seward Healthy Seniors clients and volunteers!

Back by popular demand! Join us this fall for a three-part watercolor painting series! We will go over the main painting techniques, basic watercolor information, and spend time painting still-life florals, landscapes, and more! You do not need any artistic background to participate and will leave feeling comfortable painting with watercolors on your own!
The classes will be held from 1-3pm on September 25th, October 8th, and November 20th at Trinity Apartments, 2800 E. 31st, Minneapolis. There is a $7 fee per class ($5 for Trinity residents). Class size is limited, so sign up early to ensure you get a spot.
To register, email info@LShealthyseniors.org or call 612-729-5799. Please register by September 20th to reserve your spot for all three classes.
