As some of you may know, our office sustained some damage, and is not open due to the current conditions on E. Lake St. We were able to get a couple of our computers from the office which allows us to coordinate help for the seniors in our community. Our community needs our help more now than ever. We have to cancel our August & most September events as we try to help our local seniors and rebuild.
Because our office location is currently unusable we have a temporary P.O. Box for you to reach us at. Longfellow/Seward Healthy Seniors P.O. Box 17133 Minneapolis, MN 55417 612-729-5799 info@LShealthyseniors.org
Coronavirus Prevention Measures
Information about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact are changing daily. At Longfellow/Seward Healthy Seniors we are trying to stay abreast of the situation. We are looking at how we can help and protect the people we serve and our volunteers. We have made some difficult decisions based on constantly changing recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health.
At this point our office is open, although that may change in the near future based on updated recommendations from CDC or the Minnesota Department of Health. We have cancelled our classes and group activities until the end of August including our Senior Social/Health Talk, Tai Chi exercise classes, Nurse Is In/Blood Pressure Clinics, and art classes. We will keep you informed of other cancellations.
The most accurate and up-to-date source of information about the Coronavirus is the Center for Disease Control (CDC) website at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html. For those who don’t have access to the web, the Minnesota Department of Health COVID-19 Hotline at 651-201-3920 is another available resource.
We have also made the hard decision to cancel our Annual Dinner Fundraiser Event scheduled for April 23d. We hope to reschedule it in the future. Our Annual Dinner is our largest fundraising campaign during the year. Not holding it will really cut into our fundraising efforts. If it is within your means, please conside donating to L/S Healthy Seniors through GiveMN.
