Senior Social & Health Talks
Senior Social and Health Talks occur the third Tuesday of each month and feature guest speakers on health/wellness issues, birthday celebrations and time to socialize! Refreshments are provided. A Nurse is In/Blood Pressure Clinic is also offered. A nominal suggested donation of $1 - $2 is appreciated. |
Diabetes Support Group
Diabetes Support Group is facilitated by a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and provides education, support, discussion and occasional guest speakers. The Longfellow Diabetes Support Group has resumed meeting in person. The group will meet on the Second Wednesday of each month from 1:30 – 2:30 pm in the community room at Trinity apartments (2800 E. 31st St, Minneapolis). All are welcome, but please be prepared to wear your face masks. |

Tai Chi For Health
Classes are held weekly on Tuesdays from 9:30am - 10:15am. Tai Chi For Health is a low-impact exercise class for seniors. Movements are never forced and the muscles are relaxed rather than tensed. Tai Chi For Healthy is readily adaptable to anyone’s abilities. The classes vary between sitting and standing and include slow, easy movements aimed at quieting the mind, improving breathing, coordination, flexibility and strength. Classes cost $5/each, but seniors age 65+ who have a limited income and live in our service area may qualify for a discounted price. Contact our office to see if you qualify for a sliding scale fee.
